Summer fun for young friends--bubbles!
Honoring our Elders. Two of them are celebrating their 93rd birthdays!
Young Adult Friends discerning songs for their camping trip:
Over Memorial Day, Friends had a blast at Catoctin Quaker Camp
Friends participated in a march against gun violence, carrying FMW's banner.
FMW Families went skiing on the first weekend in February in a place called, appropriately, Penn's Woods. Great fun!
Seven truly fabulous FMW women spent a year planning (and eating untold amounts of Cosi Signature Salad) to bring about the BYM Women's Retreat from January 25-27. They are Martha Solt, Robinne Gray, Faith Williams, Jean Harman, Mary Campbell, Susan Griffin, and Debby Churchman. The theme of the retreat--Play, Nap, Feast--reflected well and accurately on the sense of spiritual refreshment at FMW.
Over one weekend in December, we put together and filled hundreds of shoeboxes as gifts for our vulnerable neighbors--as we have done for the past 22 years. The boxes were delivered to area shelters to distribute on Christmas.
On a beautiful Sunday in October 2012, Friends Meeting of Washington celebrated the harvest with an inter-generational party. We created pesto pasta and flower sandwiches with the plants we harvested. There were art activities, a peace garden, a pinata, and a moon bounce. Guests brought music, bubbles, potluck contributions, and a talent for bouncing. Fun!
