The Peace and Social Concerns committee is active with renewed purpose and vision, shaped by several formative threshing sessions. We are pleased to offer our service to the meeting.
Our focus is to nurture and support individuals and groups led to action, share opportunities and resources, and offer educational programs related to the peace and equality testimonies.

You are warmly invited to P&SC committee meetings. We are eager  to support both members and attenders with the resources and guidance to help carry out your leadings and peace work, and also connect Friends together who’s efforts and interests are shared.  We gather at noon on the fourth Sunday of each month in the North room on the third floor. All are very welcome to drop in, or if you have a need, please let any of our committee members know so we may be of better service to you.

You may contact Mark Cannon, Clerk at 301-367-0303, or email to

The Committee designates a contact with Amnesty International, a worldwide movement to promote the human rights stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards.

Since 1979, the contact has organized the Meeting participation in Amnesty International's letter-writing campaign to help to free political prisoners who have non-violently opposed their governments.

The Committee also has under its care the Hunger and Homelessness Task Force.

We also provides information to Friends facing choices relating to military service.
We look forward to nurturing our community’s vibrant work for peace.
