Starting this Friday - Listening to the Heart of Genesis – A Contemplative Path with Rabbi Leila Gal Berner, Friday mornings February 3 to March 3, 10 - 11:20 am on Zoom (registration required)

Basing her new Jewish practice on a Christian medieval lectio divina, Rabbi Leila Gal Berner has developed kriat hakodesh, reading the sacred, in which we listen to a biblical text in deep contemplation and then enter into silence, after having been asked personal questions which pertain to the text and our own lives.  The stories of Genesis come alive in new ways.  Cost $125.  Participants must commit to all five sessions. Contact Sabrina McCarthy to register: sabrina.mccarthy@verizon.net, cell 240.778.5234.

Washington Interfaith Network is an interfaith alliance of over 50 DC congregations building faith-led power on work with and on behalf of DC’s low income residents and communities of color.  FMW affiliated to WIN 4 years ago and have found our work with WIN to be an extraordinarily effective, growthful and satisfying way to our anti-racist values and pro-equity values into practice.  If you are curious and think that WIN’s relational, hands-on advocacy work might be for you, join us for dinner at FMW on February 23.  For more information, contact Elaine Wilson (ElaineSWils@gmail.org), Barbara Briggs (BarbaraHBriggs@gmail.org)
