“We who are members of the Society of Friends have little to fall back on except our experience with truth. We cannot resort to ritual or creed or to ecclesiastical decisions for guidance. We must find our way by seeing the hand of God at work in the weaving of the fabric of everyday life.” – Clarence E. Pickett

Monday, July 6, and weekly for nine weeks: Financial Peace University (FPU). Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more! Contact Jennifer Forrest at 540-818-0038 or jennforrest@gmail.com for more information. http://www.daveramsey.com/fpu

Next Sunday, July 12, the Personal Aid, Library, and Capital Campaign Committees will meet. The group discussing white privilege and reading Waking Up White meets in the early morning, and the book group discussing Karen Armstrong’s 12 Steps to a Compassionate Life meets at noon. At 3:00 pm, there will be a tea to honor the recipients of the Mary Jane Simpson Scholarship; for more information, contact Anne Kendall, akendall@wakekendall.com

Many at FMW would like to make a quilt for a fellow member who is going through a very trying time. Friends are asked to submit 6x6 inch square cotton fabric panels in primary colors with a personal message by Sunday, July 26. For more details, please contact Gene Throwe at gthrowe@gmail.com.
