Today:  There will be a Committee of Clerks meeting in the early morning.

Dec. 2Grate Patrol  Come help make sandwiches for our vulnerable neighbors, starting at 5:30 pm.

Dec. 5:  Come to So Others Might Eat to prepare breakfast for our vulnerable neighbors, starting at 6:30 am. SOME is located at 71 O Street, NW. There is a small parking lot next to the building. All are welcome.

Dec. 5 – 6 – Junior Young Friends Conference, Baltimore Monthly Meeting, Stony Run (Baltimore, MD)  For more information, contact Jocelyn Dowling, Youth Programs Manager. To register, go to the JYF Registration page on the Yearly Meeting website.

 

Dec. 6: The Nominating, Membership, Religious Education, and Ministry & Worship Committees will meet. There will be singing at 10:00 am, and a Spiritual Formation group will meet in the afternoon.

 

Dec. 6: William Penn House Potluck & Dialogue  Friends are invited to a potluck and Quaker dialogue at William Penn House on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 pm. Those who knew Tom Fox and his mission in Iraq will talk about their reflections on having known him and lessons learned. Bring a dish to share; family members and friends are always welcome. Heads up: The annual Shoebox Project will take place on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm both days. We will pack more than 1000 boxes with practical gifts for our vulnerable neighbors. Saturday is the day we put the boxes together, and on Sunday, we fill them, wrap them, and take them to shelters. All are welcome (and needed!). For more info, contact Steve Brooks at sbrooks@uab.edu 

 

Dec. 13: The Personal Aid and Library Committees will meet upstairs, while the Shoebox Project goes on downstairs.
