Oct. 15: Threshing Session: Should FMW Provide Sanctuary to the Undocumented? FMW’s Sanctuary Taskforce is feeling a strong leading to provide housing at FMW for undocumented individuals needing sanctuary. Come help us test this leading at noon in the Meeting Room. Oct. 21: Living Through Grief & Loss, Part II, 1 to 4 pm. This workshop is designed to help anyone who is going through a significant loss navigate through the process and learn about the nature of grief and the journey to healing. For more information, contact the office, admin@quakersdc.org.


 

Oct. 28:  Outreach with African Immigrant Populations about Immigration Laws Join members of the Metropolitan AME Church, Friends Meeting of Washington and other Quaker Meetings and DC based Quaker organizations as we endeavor to develop a framework for outreach, engagement, resource sharing, and knowledge building with African Immigrant populations impacted by TPS and other immigration laws.  Questions? Oct. 29 after Meeting in the Assembly Room - FMW's Annual Committee Fair.  Members and attenders will have the opportunity to learn more about FMW committee participation while enjoying refreshments.  Also, there will be a speaker from the Bolivia Education Fund to discuss the work of Friends in that country.

 

November 2 – 3FCNL Quaker Public Policy Institute and Lobby Day, Washington Court Hotel (Washington, DC)  First-time attendees as well returning Friends can register at a reduced cost from $50-$125, with most meals included.
