"Jesus said, “For a brief time still, the light is among you. Walk by the light you have so darkness doesn’t destroy you. If you walk in darkness, you don’t know where you’re going. As you have the light, believe in the light. Then the light will be within you, and shining through your lives. You’ll be children of light.” – John 12: 35-36

Terrace Room Meeting - All are welcome, 10:30 to 11:30 each First Day.  In late October, the Ministry and Worship Committee established a meeting in the Terrace Room to sit with a Friend who had been speaking every First Day and delivering sometimes hurtful messages in the large 10:30 meeting. Over the last two months, other Friends have joined us and have begun to share messages more freely than one would in the large meeting. Many come to Friends Meeting of Washington with spiritual burdens, troubled personal lives, or have experienced grief and loss recently and this particular Meeting for Worship in the Terrace Room is becoming a sacred space for those led to share these life challenges. During this holiday season, we also have decided to dedicate this meeting to those feeling blue during the holiday season.

Dec. 17: Meeting for Business is scheduled for this date, to accommodate the Shoebox Project on December 10.

Dec. 24: Come to the FMW Christmas Eve Potluck, Sing-along and Worship. Doors open at 5:00. Please bring enough to share for 10 or more people. All are welcome. For more information, call the office at 202.483.3310 or email admin@quakersdc.org

Dec. 25: The FMW office will be closed. Also, there will be a Meeting for Worship at noon. All are welcome.
