“O brother man!
fold to thy heart thy brother;
Where pity dwells,
the peace of God is there;
To worship rightly
is to love each other,
Each smile a hymn,
each kindly deed a prayer.

- John Greenleaf Whittier, 1807-1892

Friends Meeting of Washington upholds and nurtures the Quaker testimony of Community.  Quakers are known for cultivating a community life where you can gather with others to have fun and strengthen your bonds as you deepen your spiritual life. Second only to the Quaker’s Peace testimony is our love for “potluck” dinners.

Start a Community Life program at FMW - Do you have an idea or activity you would like to share with the community? Every program at FMW needs to be taken under the care of an FMW committee.  Therefore, the first step in starting a Community Life program is to get approval from an FMW hospitality committee,  which will help you shape and support your leading.
