In Memoriam: Our long time member, Alex Mathews died on Wednesday morning, October 30 at Providence Medical Center's Hospice unit. May he rest in eternal peace and may his memory be for each of us a blessing!

RE / First Day School at National Gallery of Art this Sunday:  Kids in the Quakes and the Middle Group (kids 4-13) will be holding First Day School at the National Gallery of Art, East Wing, on Sunday November 3, starting at 11 am when the museum opens.  We will meet under the HUUUUUGE mobile in the East Wing Lobby.  We will be talking about mobiles, Alexander Calder, expressing oneself, and that of God within us.  We plan to eat lunch in the cafeteria together afterwards.

AFSC Discussion/Debrief, Sunday, rise of Meeting, Bridge Room:  AFSC has announced that it is closing down its DC program.  This is a discussion of what is happening and what options there may be going forward.  For more information contact

Pendle Hill Workshop, “How We Win” with Quaker social justice activist and scholar George Lakey.  On Saturday, November 9, Lakey will conduct two workshops:  Morning (9:00 to noon), How We Win Strategy Workshop open to everyone.  Afternoon (1:30 to 5:00 p.m.), by application, Facilitating “How We Win” Workshops, teaching experienced facilitators how to lead their own How We Win Strategy Workshops in their communities. FMW Meeting for Business, November 10 at rise of meeting.  All are invited to participate in FMW’s 2nd Sunday meeting discussions, updates and decision-making.  Contributions to a potluck lunch beforehand are also welcome!

FAMILIES AND CHILDREN ARE WELCOME

First Day School begins at 10:30 each Sunday. If you come later than 10:30, please stay a moment with your child to help them settle into the class. Children in FDS are reunited with their parents in the final minutes of Meeting for Worship.

Meeting for Worship 9:00 AM Sunday.  Held in the Quaker House Living Room, this Meeting for Worship has a special invitation to silence seekers. "Quietness enough not only to know our own minds, but to listen to the still small voice."  Child care is not available.  

Meeting for Worship 6:00 PM Sunday. Held in the Parlor, this Meeting for Worship offers a sustaining opportunity for worship at the end of the weekend. Child care is not available. 

Mid-Week Meeting for Worship, Tuesday, 6:00 PM in the Library. Persons seeking to worship during the week should consider this Meeting. Child care is not available.
